In ShortKelly Sulca Hernandez is an award-winning, multidisciplinary designer based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Kelly’s creative career began in digital illustration, and she eventually branched out to a career in visual design. Her evolution into design is a testament to her range and creative adaptability. Her main sources of inspiration come from her own lived experiences, activism, and desire to see more diverse representation in art. “Making art that brings people joy,” is at the heart of her creative mission. This guiding principle fuels her work, filling it with lighthearted vibes that shine through different styles and subjects. Kelly’s art showcases her commitment to crafting stories that not only captivate, but also uplift and inspire others to do good. Alongside her usual creative endeavors, she also dabbles in tactile image-making mediums such as collage and printmaking.
Recognition
In 2022, Kelly achieved recognition by securing two American Advertising Addy awards for her contributions to cross-platform integrated brand identity design and an outdoor advertising media project. In 2023, her mural won a NETA Public Media Award for Overall Excellence in Marketing & Communications as a part of the "Get More Local" campaign.
Just for Fun
